I do a lot of equity-centered work for the University of California and UCSD community (particularly mentorship), so I’ve highlighted a few major projects that I’m especially proud of, and have impacted the community by providing systemic support/policies for student retention.
2020-2021 (260h):
Proposed addition of “rotation flexibility” language to BioSci grad handbook based on 2018-2020 rotation-matching data to Dean Pogliano.
Developed and piloted the graduate student outreach focus team CAPS4GAPS in collaboration with Student Health Services.
Organized the first annual UCSD Into the Dark March for suicide awareness.
2021-2022 (500h):
Established the emergency psychological co-response program (Triton CORE) in collaboration with CAPS, Case Management, and Student Affairs.
Lead the campus-wide Return to Learn Campus Student Transitions Task Force, presented policy recommendations to Council of Governance.
Founded the Bullying & Harassment Advocacy Committee, charged with developing a trauma-informed grievance process and resources for students with Title-IX-exempt distress.
Co-Founded the Safe Campus Resource Center under Environmental Health & Safety.
2022-2023 (90+h):
Wrote the initial white paper and charter for a UCSD Police Accountability Board, serving as student advisor.
Actively supporting students in distress, primarily in thesis-work settings across campus
Revising and presenting the “Allyship in STEM” workshop for Biology Graduate Success Symposium.
